The Problem :

The Goal:

The main purpose of designing this building is depending on the needs of students and professors, while it can show culture and a symbol of sustainability, which is the main field of this art school.

Role & Responsibilities :

The senior designer and team leader of the project along with ten other students during a three-month partnership with the university itself.

CCI Nice Côte d’Azur works for the entrepreneurs of the Côte d’Azur to create, innovate and develop in the best conditions. To continue with our sustainable vision, we associated with CCI Nice Côte d’Azur and meet with Ludovic Asso. As an officer at the sustainable parks at the CCI, his job is to collect industrial waste and repurpose it elsewhere. This way, The SDS has accomplished our goal of creating its installations by repurposing quality materials and avoiding the unnecessary production of more products.

The lobby area plays a very important role and is a place of particular value. It is here where the first (and last) contact of the users with the facility takes place. This is the first impression of our interior where we want to evoke comfort and functionality. For this reason, the signage of our facility is placed here. All the main information for the “what” and “where” will be displayed here, accompanied by guidelines that will show you where the different areas are located. These will be present in English and French, to integrate both national and international users, In our vision for sustainability, the transparent floor gives a clear view of how nature is taking over the structure.
Therefore, having an honest and transparent institution that represents our pillars in The SDS.

The exhibition area is designed as a space for practical solutions to the challenge of developing communicative environments that ‘tell a story of the SDS in a three-dimensional space and have it be a temporary display. Here we will present the profit of the SDS students through their study years. Through the years, the purpose is to have temporary displays adaptable to large exhibitions, conferences, trade shows, etc. This will happen thanks to adaptable panels, where the ropes can be adaptable to the different types of projects the students may propose. Finally, to have a more comradely knowledge of the SDS students, our students will be shown on a wall that will have a picture on one side and a sustainable phrase on the other, making it an interactive panel for the users.
